Ingredients of Chicken Sausage Sandwich
- 1/4 cup sliced yellow onion
- 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
- 2 slices baguette
- 1/4 sliced red bell pepper
- 1 chicken sausage
- 2 tablespoon dijon mustard
Step 1 Cook the sausages Preheat the grill to medium. On the grill, cook the sausage by turning it occasionally until cooked through. It will take about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat and place on a plate.
Step 2 Toast the Baguette If desired, toss the Baguette slices on the grill for a few minutes to toast them.
Step 3 Saute the onions and bell peppers Heat the olive oil in a skillet over very low heat. Add thinly sliced onions and bell peppers and cook slowly for about 15 minutes until the onions are tender and brown.
Step 4 Make the sandwich Split the sausage in half (lengthwise), so that it forms two thinner pieces of equal length. Place the sausages on one slice of bread.
